Reasonable, Easy Access to the Children's Hospital

   The REACH Committee is a city-wide coalition of Calgarians dedicated to participatory decision-making on the future of the Alberta Children's Hospital. If a new Children's Hospital is to be built, it should be at the right location, for the right reasons, and following correct procedures.

Petitions to the Alberta Legislative  Assembly must follow a strict protocol, as described on the Legislative Assembly website. 

REACH offers two options for this petition: 
1) Print out hard copies and collect signatures for submission to the Assembly. Note that every copy must carry all the information on every page, to be valid. (Use your back button to return to this page.)

Please contact REACH to collect the hardcopy petitions before the end of September.

a public service website that maintains a database of signatories.

   To the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, in Legislature Assembled:

We, the undersigned residents of Alberta, petition the Legislative Assembly to urge the Government of Alberta to withhold further funding for the new Alberta Children’s Hospital and the infrastructure required to support it, until:

1)  adequate long-term planning is undertaken for the NorthWest Calgary region;
2)  the Calgary Health Region releases the long overdue Programs and Services report, specifying what services the Children’s Hospital will provide within the Child Health Network; 
3) the newly constituted Calgary Health Region board reviews and ratifies
the plan; and
4) the new City Council reviews and ratifies the plan.
